Effect of Soil Type on Dynamic Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Industry Chimneys

Industrial structures built with different materials and methods play an important role in the sector development of industry increase energy need. Many parameters are considered design application phase industrial to provide service for many years. The aim this study is examine dynamic behavior reinforced concrete chimneys depending on soil-structure interaction (SSI). For reason, a chimney, which was exposed 1999 Kocaeli Earthquake, chosen as sample. effect soils properties (hard, medium soft) selected structure investigated numerically by linear time history analysis ANSYS finite element program. horizontal component Earthquake (1999) used analyses. As result studies, besides mode shape frequency structure, stress, strain displacements were also obtained. It has been observed that hardness soil environment decreases (transition from hard soft soil), chimney apex stresses edge voids increase.
